    The 550kV GIS is a high-voltage, large-capacity gas-insulated metal-enclosed switchgear developed by Shandong Taikai High Voltage Switchgear Co., Ltd. based on the digestion and absorption of domestic and foreign ultra-high-voltage GIS product technology, combined with the company's many years of research and development experience and latest research results.

    The 550kV GIS is a high-voltage, large-capacity gas-insulated metal-enclosed switchgear developed by Shandong Taikai High Voltage Switchgear Co., Ltd. based on the digestion and absorption of domestic and foreign ultra-high-voltage GIS product technology, combined with the company's many years of research and development experience and latest research results. This product features a three-phase compartmentalized structure, enclosing components such as circuit breakers, disconnectors, grounding switches, current transformers, voltage transformers, surge arresters, busbars, inlet and outlet bushings, or cable terminations in a grounded aluminum alloy enclosure, using SF6 gas as insulation and arc extinguishing medium. It has the advantages of small footprint, minimal environmental impact, low noise, low radio interference, safe and reliable operation, and minimal maintenance workload. The product complies with the national standard GB7674 Gas-insulated metal-enclosed switchgear for rated voltages of 72.5 kV and above and meets the International Electrotechnical Commission standard IEC62271-203 Gas-Insulated Metal-Enclosed Switchgear with Rated Voltage of 52kV and Above. The technical parameters of disconnectors and grounding switches are higher than the current standard requirements.

    The 550kV GIS uses hydraulic spring operating mechanisms for circuit breakers, motor-operated mechanisms for disconnectors and grounding switches, and motor-operated spring mechanisms for fast grounding switches. In addition to the common advantages of GIS products such as small size, minimal footprint, strong environmental tolerance, safe and reliable operation, excellent seismic resistance, simple maintenance, and long inspection cycles, it also has the following characteristics:

    1. Strong breaking capability for short-circuit faults:

    The circuit breaker paired with GIS adopts a hybrid pneumatic extinguishing principle. Its arc extinguishing structure undergoes scientific simulation calculations and rigorous breaking tests, resulting in excellent air blowing effect and extremely strong arc extinguishing performance. It has a rated short-circuit breaking capacity of 63kA, with a DC component of 78% and a maximum closing capacity of 171kA. It also features short arcing time and low operating noise.

    2. Long electrical life:

    The arc extinguishing chamber adopts multiple patented technologies, and the nozzles and arc contacts use new arc-resistant materials. The main contact adopts a new structure, and the insulation cylinder between the fracture surfaces adopts a new pouring process. The comprehensive performance is significantly improved, and it can withstand 20 consecutive short-circuit current breaking tests of 63kA without maintenance.

    3. High mechanical reliability:

    The circuit breaker is equipped with spring hydraulic operating mechanisms, ensuring safe and reliable operation. It can operate continuously for 10,000 times without maintenance, while maintaining mechanical characteristics and main circuit conductivity performance that meet operational requirements. Disconnectors and grounding switches adopt motor-operated mechanisms, and fast grounding switches adopt motor-operated spring mechanisms. They have simple structures, stable characteristics, and mechanical endurancespans of up to 10,000 times.

    4. High insulation level:

    The epoxy cast components such as basin-type insulators, insulation cylinders, insulation pull rods, and insulation bases in GIS are self-made or imported from internationally renowned brands. The self-made insulation components are manufactured using advanced equipment from German Hydreich company, the company's patented technology formula, and scientific processes that have passed type tests, with each insulation product requiring strict AC withstand voltage and partial discharge tests before leaving the factory.

    All conductive structures have undergone multiple optimizations through simulation analysis software. The shielding cover adopts patented technology for surface electrostatic coating, significantly enhancing insulation performance.

    5. High performance of disconnectors/grounding switches:

    The ability to transfer busbar current for disconnectors and induce current for grounding switches meets the requirements of open-type disconnector/grounding switch standards, making it possible to directly connect with overhead busbars. Therefore, the components of the ZF16-550 GIS can be derived to design composite appliances to meet the needs of open-type switch stations.

    6. Intelligent monitoring means:

    Leveraging the advantages of the group company in microelectronics and power electronics, the GIS partial discharge online monitoring system and switch state intelligent monitoring system are seamlessly integrated into the ZF16-550 GIS, developing intelligent GIS products. Through integration with substation comprehensive automation systems and power grid dispatch automation systems, intelligent control, online monitoring, and status maintenance of switchgear can be achieved.

    7. Suitable for special environmental conditions:

    Suitable for operating temperatures from -50 to +50°C, meeting the temperature requirements of most regions. 

    Radio interference level is below 500μV, suitable for installation near urban and residential areas. 

    It can withstand horizontal seismic accelerations of 0.5g and vertical accelerations of 0.4g, surpassing seismic intensities of level nine earthquakes.
